Portugal Vacation!

I took a family vacation to Portugal and I can’t believe how fast I was able to edit all of the pictures! We had an amazing time and Portugal is a beautiful country. We stayed in Lisbon and also got to travel by train to Tomar and Sintra. Below I separated the photos I picked out by location.

We stayed in a very nice apartment in Lisbon and we got to travel all around the city. We visited the Praça do Comércio, Belém, Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument of Discoveries, Belém Tower, Castelo de S. Jorge, Carmo Convent, Pink Street, and a few other places I didn’t have my camera out for.

Tomar was my favorite place we went because it was home to the Knights Templar! We got to walk all around and inside the Convent of Christ, which was the headquarters of the Knights Templar. Since it was overcast and rainy, we practically had the place to ourselves! It was such an awe-inspiring town and so much fun to walk around.

We had three places that we visited in Sintra: Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, and Quinta da Regaleira. Pena Palace was so bright and colorful and had so many cool details all around it. We hiked from there to the Moorish Castle and saw the Valley of the Lakes along the way. Walking the stairs the Moorish Castle was fun but very tiring, and we could see the ocean and the city from its walls. Finally, the Quinta da Regaleira was a very cool sight and had an Inverted Tunnel the Knights Templar also used for initiation ceremonies.
